Incredible Routes began in 2009 with a quiet rebellion against soulless itineraries, checklist tourism, and the assumption that India is already known. Founded by Renuka and Kripi Sharma, a mother-daughter duo who’ve spent their lives chasing rivers, folk songs, train windows, and untold stories, we explore routes that are personal, offbeat, and fiercely local. We don’t sell what we haven’t experienced ourselves. We don’t copy-paste plans. And we definitely don’t believe that one size fits all. Our itineraries begin with questions and evolve collaboratively, at every step taken. You’ll often find us drawing maps on napkins, tracking forgotten temples in the hills, and persuading students to trade a DJ night for a fireside Baul performance. This isn’t merely tourism; this is how we make sense of the world.

Come, take the long way with us

Education beyond the Classroom

We have always known travel to be the greatest teacher of all.

We’ve journeyed with Delhi’s top colleges and select schools across India, that believed in depth over spectacle. Our programs gently draw students closer to the land, to communities, and their own potential.

Being a female-led company, we’ve also quietly but consistently broken gender barriers, making India more accessible for women travelers and empowering students to explore with freedom and confidence.

We don’t sell ready-made packages. We partner with institutions that view travel as a transformative experience. Our trips are immersive, screen-free, and designed to help young minds reconnect with their playful, inquisitive selves.

For over a decade, educators have chosen to travel with us — and together, we’ve nurtured a generation of thoughtful, responsible travelers.

Faces of the Journey

For Renuka and Kripi, travel isn’t just a profession, it’s a philosophy. They don’t design itineraries from behind a desk; they build them from the ground, through lived experience and unfiltered curiosity. From remote mountain villages to coastal backwaters, they have walked the paths they now invite others to discover.

RENUKA SHARMA

Renuka’s love for travel began long before it became a career. She read maps the way others read novels; charting routes in her mind, tracing stories through valleys, peaks, and river bends. With a degree in Statistics from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi, she wasn’t just academically sharp she was also the president of the dramatics society and an active member of the hiking club, going on formative, life-altering treks across the Indian Himalayas.

At the age of 45, she returned to college to pursue a Master’s in Travel Management from Sri Venkateswara College in 2007. This wasn’t a pivot, it was a long-overdue step into something she had always been doing for friends and family: crafting thoughtful, unique travel experiences. Her journey is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to begin again.

Renuka went on to found Incredible Routes and later became a travel professor at YWCA, Delhi. She taught for several years mentoring the next generation of industry professionals, particularly women. She entered what was then a male-dominated and in many cases male-only industry, equipped with nothing but her field experience and deep knowledge of India’s lesser-known routes. Within a decade, she became synonymous with offbeat travel in the country.

She continues to bring that same fire to every journey. Known for being the first to demonstrate any adventure activity be it rappelling, river-crossing, or leading a high-altitude trek, she leads with skill and contagious enthusiasm giving students a fun challenge and the adults around her some serious inspiration.

KRIPI SHARMA

Kripi, at the age of 10, had already travelled more of India than most adults had at the time. We’re talking ’90s, pre-Instagram, when travel wasn’t aesthetic it was visceral. The kind of travel where you packed light, stopped where the road ended, and collected stories, not souvenirs.

She studied Electronic Media at Madras University, then returned to Delhi in 2009, where she juggled a growing media career while helping shape the early identity of Incredible Routes alongside Renuka. By the third year of the company, it had outgrown its modest beginnings and Kripi stepped in full-time. With a natural flair for leadership, and an uncanny ability to steer through chaos, Kripi brought operational backbone to Renuka’s expansive vision.

By 25, she was confidently leading all-women student groups on ambitious journeys; challenging cautious parents, patriarchal doubts, and the status quo. She was not just leading trips, she was encouraging women to take up space on roads, in trains and in forests, to explore without apology.

A gifted storyteller, skilled driver and avid solo traveller, Kripi has covered most Indian states either behind the wheel or on her beloved motorcycle, Speedy Dhanno IV. Whether mapping out logistics or spinning a tale around a campfire, she makes every route both safe and unforgettable.

Their journeys are rooted in first-hand knowledge, built with empathy, and driven by a belief in the power of meaningful exploration. This is why travelers return year after year — to plan their next adventure, or simply to reconnect with the kind of travel that reminds them why it’s worth stepping out again.
